Introduction - This is me!
Hello everyone and thanks for checking out my blog. I'm going to start off with a wee bit about me. I'm Kirsty and I'm an artist. I am based in the Highlands of Scotland, a beautiful part of the world (not that I'm biased or anything). I grew up on an island off the west coast where I spent my childhood wandering in the woods and combing the shores looking for treasure. As an adult not much has changed. My pockets are still overflowing with rocks, shells and interesting finds. I take inspiration from nature and love creating or capturing wonderful things. I use a variety of materials: Acrylic paint, pencils, watercolour, ink, recycled jewellery, sea glass, wool and fabric among other things. I have lots of exciting ideas and can't wait to show you my latest creations.
I was made redundant from my full time job as a Sherriff's witness last year and then discovered I was pregnant with my second child. So I have decided to have a go at being an artist. I've always considered myself an artist but didn't have the confidence to pursue it professionally... until now that is. So here I am with nothing to lose and everything to gain. It's a very daunting venture but also very exciting. I'm still finding the balance between fear of failure and the thrill of the unknown about what's still to come. It's going to be a fun filled, action packed year and I would like to share my story with you.
